Private Equity Fund Accountant (Temporary)
Our client is seeking a Private Equity Fund Accountant who can be available for 6 months for a maternity leave coverage.
The role would be overseeing the fund administration and accounting for over 20 separate venture capital funds as well as the company’s Principal Investment Portfolio which includes:
• Production of quarterly investor reports, General Partner board reporting, and annual fund financial statements
• Review of Limited Partnership Agreements to understand accounting and reporting implications.
• Preparation of carried interest calculations.
• Preparation of distribution and call notices and associated calculations.
• Work closely with venture capital teams, third party fund administrators, Corporate Treasury, legal and tax departments to ensure appropriate investment transaction processing and cash management.
• Review, interpretation and implementation of new US GAAP accounting standards, including preparation of written reports to analyze and document the accounting treatment for various investments under US GAAP.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of controls, systems and processes to ensure accurate and timely accounting and management reporting.
• Prepare regular reports for senior management and the Board.
• Liaise with our international offices on a regular basis and build these relationships.
• Assist with other group controlling activities and ad-hoc projects as required
• Supporting tax compliance requirements (including K1, PFIC and CFC).
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following qualifications and skills:
• Prior experience in a similar and have an Accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)
• Practical experience with investment companies and complex partnership structures, preferably within US GAAP.
• Experience of preparation of financial statements, preferably under US GAAP.
• Experience of understanding and interpreting legal agreements that affect the company, both those with third parties and within the group.
• Experience with investment performance calculations and presentation, including attribution analysis, is desirable.
• Ability to handle a diverse and varied workload, work on ad-hoc projects as they arise and to meet tight deadlines.
• Experience in an international multi-currency environment
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills essential.
